Official conference materials describe FIS|HIS International 2024 as the largest UK-hosted international infection conference. Hosted by the Healthcare Infection Society in partnership with the British Infection Association, the three-day event ran from 20 to 22 November 2024 in Liverpool and brought together audiences working across infection prevention and control, infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, and biomedical science.
For May, the conversation placed his collaborative art-science practice within a setting shaped by medicine, microbiology, and public health. In discussion with Price and Dumitriu, he brought his work into dialogue with questions about how art can engage specialist audiences around infection, research, and public communication without flattening scientific complexity into illustration.
